This question appears to be off-topic because it is about overcoming fear which does not seem related to productivity. (If you were asking how to put aside fear to focus, that would be on topic.) – Jeanne Boyarsky Aug 3 '14 at 17:58

The best way to deal with any fear or anxiety is to simply accept it. Know that it's natural and there for a reason. Some people are worried that a contact lens could scratch their cornea, others are worried that it could go back into the eye socket. All of these things can happen but really in the worst case you go to the emergency room or your local ophthalmology clinic and they take it out.

Thousands of people wear contacts everyday. If it were a big issue we would hear about it. You will know when you get a cornea scratch because it really hurts. Just be cautious about putting them in and out.
