I'm drinking it for a while and it relaxes me at work, but I've realized I'm kinda over-excited before to go to sleep. Does it have an effect similar to caffeine?
There are two major types of teas.
Teas that does not contain caffeine, as herbal teas, have relaxing effect and a cup of tea before bed may help sleeping. Chamomile is the most famous but others too have similar effect.
Teas that contain caffeine have the same effect as coffee with respect to sleep. However, tea has more health benefits than harm while coffee is more harmful than useful.
Each type of coffee or tea contains different amounts of caffeine. Each individual reacts differently to caffeine. Also each individual has different threshold. By experience, one can tell what works better.
If a person needs something to help staying awake, tea is a better choice than coffee. However, before drinking a lot of it a personal physician must be consulted.
Tea contains theïne which is the same caffeine but for some reason they like to call it theïne. The amount of caffeine differs per tea.
Chamomile and green tea are not for there relaxing effect.
There is also tea that contains no caffeine (theine) in Dutch it is called "Rooibos" i'm unable to find the English naming. Rooibos tea is prepared from any of several species of Borbonia or Aspalanthus, believed to have tonic properties
