Generally blocking social media makes people just go the route of using proxies and other methods to beat the system. A better way to do it is to encourage the use of social media, but also encourage balance, and specify that social media be used only for a certain amount of time/for a certain purpose. It is a bit difficult to find that balance, especially depending on your office atmosphere, but it can be done with careful moulding of everyone's mindset ;). P.S. I'm not going to go into long details of how's and why's, because I expect that it would be up to you to choose "how" you go about doing that. |

One way would be to block access to social media sites during working hours, if your network has that functionality. |
