According to some web site, a foot rest can

Promotes good seated posture and blood circulation

According to the scope: Personal Productivity - Stack Exchange is for people wanting to improve their personal productivity. If you have a question about...ergonomics is included – Yoga Jul 15 '12 at 3:12
I believe your question is just too narrow. You are asking for a true opinion which this website it not meant to do. – Jeel Shah Jul 15 '12 at 4:34
Too bad this question was closed (I am the one who had starred it). Maybe one day more people will understand that ergonomics is related to productivity. – Franck Dernoncourt Jul 15 '12 at 20:01
As @gekkostate noted, I closed it because the question is subjective/opinion based. Which is a worthwhile pursuit, but not in fitting with stackexchange. I think the topic of ergonomics itself is fine. – Jeanne Boyarsky Jul 16 '12 at 0:06
@JeanneBoyarsky, I hope you understand ergonomics is not math, there is no absolute right, or 100% objective answer, it is all about experience sharing.. – Yoga Jul 16 '12 at 15:42
