I read a while back that you should only use your bed for sleeping, that means no video games and no TV while in bed. In return you apparently get better, more valuable sleep.
Is this true?

It seems to be accepted that watching television or using the computer just before bed is bad for you - an example, another example So from a health perspective, the recommendation there is that you don't have a TV on in the bedroom before you go to sleep. Bed should be a place of rest (or passion) but not for shooting aliens or racing cars or watching the news... Personally I would always have the computer and TV in separate rooms to my bed - but that's mostly so I won't disturb my wife if I'm gaming :-) |

I think this is a very personal thing. I don't read or watch TV in bed. I prefer to get in bed, go to sleep...wake up and get out of bed. I used to read to read and watch TV in bed when younger! I have found that I tend to go to sleep quicker now as the mental associations have been made that bed is for sleep. What do you do at the moment? |
