Some ergonomic chairs feature a neck support. On the one hand, I believe that this would help relieving the neck pain I'm currently suffering; on the other, I suspect that they could be actually counterproductive.

Is there scientific research backing the convenience of these devices?

I can't find any evidence to back it up after doing a search of PubMed.
