What are your experiences with adderal and productivity? It it better than coffee?

Go talk to a doctor. The reasoning is simple: If you have a problem with an attention deficit, you will be able to get this drug with a prescription. Adderal is heavily regulated, so getting it without a prescription is illegal in most states (e.g. adderall is a schedule II substance in the U.S.). On top of that you can discuss the side effects you may encounter with an expert. I want to point you also to erowid, which is said to be a good source for all information on all forms of drug use. I personally combat my occasional lack of energy with exercise, better eating and having a healthy sleep schedule. I don't like the idea of taking amphetamines if that can be avoided. |

This is a question you'll want to discuss with your doctor. Depending on where you live there are hoops to jump through to get it. The two drugs (Adderall and caffeine) work differently. Wikipedia has a good description of how Adderall works. For me? Yes, it does help. Caffeine induces a crash after I drink coffee. The Adderall is more even. But even then you have to learn how to work with Adderall. It's not a magic pill. Will it work for you? I wouldn't have the first clue. |

It's a good tool when you have a lot of stupid things to do. If you need creativity and higher reasoning abilities, I wouldn't suggest it. Same goes for coffee. If you have AD/HD, express yourself in a non - classic way. It's a gift. AD/HD isn't a disease. |

Honestly, I've never taken it but I work with several programmers who have, and do. I won't comment on the potential side effects as those are pretty easy to find online - but my simple answer is absolutely yes, it works. I've seen it in action and although I don't use it I am amazed by how much this helps those who I work with. I don't believe they take it every day, but they do when it's crunch time on a project and they need to get a lot of work done in a short period of time. |
