I tend to leave a lot of related webpages open when I work, that I would like to keep working with at later points in time. Is there an easy way to "save" a browser's state with all the opened tabs, so that you can pick up where you left off later on?

I feel that I could be much more productive in picking up where I left off with this type of plugin/browser.

Most browsers do that already, don't they? FF, Chrome, SeaMonkey, and Opera all do, to my knowledge, and I think IE has a an option to "restore last session" when you open it. – TRiG Mar 7 at 19:01

And I'm not talking about crashing. Close browser; open browser: all tabs are there. (Except IE, where it's close browser; open browser; find restore button and click it: all tabs are there.) (I rarely use IE.) – TRiG Mar 7 at 19:30

I was confused because the default startup is to load a webpage. There is an option to do exactly this from the settings of Chrome / Firefox. Problem resolved! Thanks. – Garreh Mar 7 at 19:36

There is actually functionality in most browsers already in place to do just this. You can change them by going to the browser's options on startup.

Firefox

Tools --> Options --> General tab --> Startup --> Show my windows and tabs from last time

Chrome

Tools --> Settings --> On Startup --> Continue where I left off

In addition, most browsers have the ability to "Bookmark all tabs" if you want to name the current state. – Dave Newton Mar 7 at 20:06

I've got the same problem as you - every time to many tabs open. My favorite way to "clean up" my browser and spare the tabs for later is by the plugin TooManyTabs which is available in for Chrome and Firefox:

TooManyTabs - Chrome version

TooManyTabs - Firefox version

The good thing about it is that the tabs saved by this plugin aren't stored in memory any more so your browser will work faster.
