It is said that computer programmers (dealing with complex abstract problems) can stay highly productive only for a short period during the day, soon experiencing mental fatigue that makes further abstract thinking increasingly difficult.

How can a programmer relax his mind and replenish his mental powers?

Please consider all or combination of following areas:

  • Relaxation techniques
  • Lifestyle (and sleeping)
  • Nutrition and supplements

note: The tags don't fit but I can't create new ones, please consider tags relaxation, replenishment or concentration.

Pretty broad; expect it to be closed or made into a wiki. – Brian Carlton Jul 17 '11 at 19:48
I don't get it, what is broad about this question? Never mind, I will discuss it on meta, I am really interested in any help. – daniel.sedlacek Jul 17 '11 at 23:09
