I heard about speed reading techniques which enable a person to read quickly.
I looked into some of them and removing subvocalization was the best option I found. Can anyone shed light on how I can improve my self in this aspect?
I do agree with Krishna that talking about the reading helps improve to understand the material. The pacing method is one of easiest and fastest techniques to learn. It can even be expanded by certain swiping moves, but you need to be familiar with other techniques and able to combine them.
Reducing sub-vocalisation is not really technique in my opinion, but more like a bad reading habit to get rid off. Summing a melody is a good way to get started.
One of the best techniques to master is learning to read groups of words or to expand eye fixations. Instead of reading word by word you may just grab the meaning of a whole phrase, sometimes even a whole sentence.
You may use your finger as a pacing tool to hop from one fixation point to the next one.
I hope that helps a bit.
