I'm looking for a sit/stand adjustable desk for my dorm room, which provides a desk/chair combo. As a result, the desk should be basically flat in the 'sit' position and adjust up 18 inches or so for the 'stand' position. I've tried to find something to fit my situation, but haven't come across anything compelling…anyone know of anything, or should I roll my own?

Do you mean you need a vertically adjustable tabletop to put on top of your existing desk? Such a thing would require quite some space even when folded and how would you be able to sit and work then? –  Gruber Aug 9 '13 at 19:28

Yeah, that's what I'm looking for—hard to find, if one even exists :/ I'd imagine it would be something minimal, like stiff-hinged legs –  FeifanZ Aug 9 '13 at 21:47

Try this.??

There is also the hand-made/DIY version for which you could obtain design templates for.

I've recently bought two sit/stand Galant tables from IKEA and I'm quite happy with them. They were also quite affordable.

However, I can't seem to find it outside of Scandinavia on http://www.ikea.com.

Unfortunately because it's a dorm I can't exactly get rid of existing furniture, only supplement/build on top of it. –  FeifanZ Aug 9 '13 at 18:08
