Recently, I was talking to one of my relatives who has a very irritating personality. This fact is known to everyone in the family, but the relative himself doesn't seem to get it. I wondering if I also have similar issues in my personality which I might not be able to identify my self but might be obvious to the other person. Is there any technique out there which helps to identify negative aspects in one's personality and ways to over come it ??

Any ideas are welcome. Thanks

Edit: It is tangentially related to personal productivity, as identifying these kind of personality issues can lead us to path of self improvement.

Take a DISC personality test and be sure to thoroughly read what the test measures and what your results mean. Keep in mind that you cannot please everyone and you will always have traits that other personality types may view as weaknesses or being negative. Self improvement does not necessarily mean more productivity. Can you frame the question to be a bit more specific? Are you looking to increase productivity in a relationship with this person? What specific behaviors are a barrier? – TK-421 Jun 4 '14 at 2:17
