comment Where can I find references on good office design?
Thanks for your answer but my needs are more sophisticated than simple workflow. Iasked about books because I want to learn how the design of the space affects the work environment on a deeper level than just "I cant find this thing..."

@Muz I asked about books etc... because I am trying to move beyond simple "bullet list" type of advice. Of course "label things" is a good idea but a big portion of my job is meeting with students. I don't think a label maker is going to increase the quality of those meetings.

comment How do I gauge the effectiveness of my time management system?
+1 for also how well you manage the number of tasks you commit to for the day. I think this is one of the things the Pomodoro technique has done for me... I am now much more realistic about what a day's worth of work really means.

comment How can I make my evening work time more productive?
Thanks I have used the pomodoro technique with some success at work but I like the idea of beginning with small less daunting chunks... I am going to give this a try

comment How can I eliminate fear of phone calling?
I have a similar issue with the phone - I think in my case it is that I feel more comfortable with physical cues than auditory cues so I don't feel as in control during phone calls. I am not as confident that the conversation is being perceived the way I think it is.

+1 for adapt techniques after you learn them... this is good advice for many of the methods proposed on this site.

comment What to do when the work in a Pomodoro is completed before 25 minutes?
I don't really understand your 1st bullet on #4. What do you mean by unlearn the habit of using the clock for the pomodoro? Isn't using a timer the whole point of the method?
