comment How can I improve my workplace to have less interruptions?
I wear headphones at work. Some colleges are genuinely surprised when they notice that I actually play some noise instead of using them as a "don't disturb" sign. I usually use this noise generator: mynoise.net (the northern lights drone is very calming for me)

comment Should your short-term goals be ambitious?
I don't understand very well what you mean by "goals": Is it developing a habit (this is what gethabit wants to achieve), then it can't be short term (habits are a long term thing). Or is it about completing tasks or a greater number of tasks: Then you might want to look at the "srcum" method, which has a concept called a "sprint" (a defined time period of e.g. a week that gets assigned a specific set of tasks): lifehack.org/articles/productivity/scrum-for-one.html I guess there is at least some research on that method.
