comment Tips for bi-tasking?
Well I've been doing this for a while now, one substantial task and one less substantial, and I found that my chances of getting distracted greatly increase when adding additional tasks. I think what makes this work for me is that the extra task is a reward for doing the substantial task...

+1 for fingering the diet... blood sugar fluctuations are bad for concentration. Avoid sugars but do eat starches with fat and/or vinegar to slow down their digestion.

Anxiety can be diet-related. See here for a testimonials of people that improved anxiety through diet: perfecthealthdiet.com/reader-results/#Mental%20health.

One more thing to try: Skip breakfast by having only e.g. coffee with cream. (no carbs or protein). Then you're extending your night fast until lunch which can be very beneficial due to autophagy and mild ketosis (ketones are a cleaner source of fuel for your brain). See if you function well during that time. If not you may have issues to address.

low fat can lead to lower satiety and less nutrients (since many nutrients are fat-soluble). If you're feeling fine without hunger there's no issue. Hunger means your body is missing nutrients. Eat lots of very nutritious foods so you need less calories. Take a look at the PHDiet I linked at the bottom, it's really amazing.

I agree with this except the whole grains, which are actually bad for you. Google "Paleo Diet".

Yes, I use a Pomodoro timer but I would still get distracted. Bi-tasking seems to help so far...

Good tips, thanks. For me the biggest problem with singletasking is that I distract myself. I actually found that since telling myself 2 is ok, I get less distracted :)

I like how it's three easy to remember words, so it's easier to remember as something to do. I do this already by letting my Pomodoro timer change my IM message to "available in x minutes".

I love the prototype idea. I've come to the realization that rewriting code from scratch once you made a prototype is often a great idea.
