comment Tips for bi-tasking?
Good tips, thanks. For me the biggest problem with singletasking is that I distract myself. I actually found that since telling myself 2 is ok, I get less distracted :)

I like how it's three easy to remember words, so it's easier to remember as something to do. I do this already by letting my Pomodoro timer change my IM message to "available in x minutes".

comment Situational procrastination: how to be productive before project starts?
I love the prototype idea. I've come to the realization that rewriting code from scratch once you made a prototype is often a great idea.

comment fasting and low-calory diet good for the brain?
@Penguin_Knight well yeah, I guess that the eventual outcome of fasting is always a coma :-) I like your answer but I'm still partial to the effects of intermittent fasting, which is easier to do than caloric restriction and also has plausible health benefits like supporting immune function through autophagy.

comment fasting and low-calory diet good for the brain?
@Penguin_Knight Your link 7 is nice but I didn't find anything in there that points to ketoacidosis being reached by ketogenic dieting? Full text here: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1528-1167.2007.00914.x/… . I still believe ketoacidosis is not something to worry about when fasting. I also believe that very long fasts (>48hrs) are not a good idea.

@Penguin_Knight also, school children are not fully formed adults (especially regarding the brain and its relative energy consumption) and therefore you can't really extrapolate anything about fasting for adults. Other than that, nice answer.

@Penguin_Knight while you are correct that too much ketones can cause loss of conciousness (through ketoacidosis), there is no way you can reach ketoacidosis through fasting. It is the end result of diabetes and thus of severe metabolic derangement. Ketones are fine, Inuit and Masai use them all the time.

comment How can I automatically clear my inbox?
Neat idea to remove time-sensitive labels. However, why not move those mails out of your inbox when they arrive into a separate folder and then process that folder as often as needed? You can simply select all and delete as you see fit.

This answer reminds me of coworking. Look for a coworking place near you.

comment Where should I store good advice?
Simple, I like it! I would just be worried about forgetting things again later. I suppose that instead of deleting I would move things I know to an archive section at the end of the note.

comment Why am I not able to motivate myself to code?
Find a coding buddy. I don't know where or how so I'll just leave this as a comment. It's great to get all worked up about cool new tech and then work together on coding it up, dragging each other through motivational dips.

Good thinking! I'll try the flashcard thing to internalize stuff I want to own and then use your queue to stuff in new content.
