How to concentrate without external stimulants? @SteveV we are very good at focussing on unpleasant things as long as there is an urge to to them. We are even programmed to be more focussed if we are hungry (i don't want to say that eating is unpleasent). |

Planning and writing for writing blog posts, articles, books I do agree on the idea of mind-mapping. I got I lot of mindmapping done on the subject, but somehow, there is (to me atleast) a gap when going from mindmap to actually writing stuff down. |

Pictures for language learning @Christian Rosetta Stone does use spaced repetition. First you'll learn Shoe with the image of a shoe, the second time the shoe is red and the third time the woman wears a red shoe. |

How to concentrate without external stimulants? @SteveV I think it is a bit of both in cases that stuff is enjoyable concentration comes more natural. Still, even on more enjoyable stuff you can train your concentration by getting more dicipline. The other way around is also true, if you get better in concentrating stuff becomes more enjoyable and get more dicipline to finish stuff. |

What is the most effective way to get into 'the zone'? This is exactly why a lot of people say that they need a cup of coffee before they are awake. Okey, caffine has something to do with that too, but i think it is the ritual that kickstarts them. |

How do I make myself stop doing addictive activity? @DenisGolomazov by posting the question you already realized it. Stop doing is, i think, an incremental process in which you gradually improve your wanted behaviour. Make the goal easier to commit to. i.e. don't go cold turkey on social media, instead lock it out for 8 hours. |

Experiences of PhotoReading @0x6d64 they also claim that you can activate and test the knowledge. So, you should be able to have some measurement. |

Why does the Pomodoro technique recommend writing down every interruption? True, but didn't found an other reason for writing down interrupts than already suggested. |

Long term effect of learning speed reading @tehnyit yes, when reading complex subject you'll probably read a bit slower than when you read easy subjects. |

When leveraging the Pomodoro technique @0x6d64 basically you don't use the Pomodoro technique for productivity but for motivation? |

What are the (dis)advantages of Mindmap software? @daniel the pricing model won't hold me back if the software is good. Why is it more intuitive than, for example imindmap or any other mindmap software? |

Why does the Pomodoro technique recommend writing down every interruption? Yes, I know that interruptions are (almost) never that important. The issue is why would I want to note them? I could imagine that showing people the amount of interruptions and the unportance of those interruption has a benifit. However, the use is only limited to starting users. If you have accepted the fact that interruptions are not that important there is no added value for noting the interruptions? |

In GTD how do I track projects with subprojects? Yes, that is a decision you should make yourself. To me it is worth the money to use the toodledo pro features. |

Long term effect of learning speed reading I agree that it is useless to have skill you don't practice. When reading a good story I would most certainly read 'normal'/phonetic. In some cases, where I have to read loads of texts in a few days, speed reading could be a solution. Somehow, most speed readers say they stopped after a few months. My conclusion is that there is 'something' wrong with the value proposition of speed reading. |
