Bit tinkerer, electron tweaker, photographer and artist living near San Diego (formerly New Mexico, Colorado, Michigan, Florida).
Software expertise is mostly with bits, pixels, 3D geometry, compiler/interpreter innards, Linux, science numbercrunching, and teaching cats to do my work for me. Regrettably, the latter endeavor has been a total failure.

Deciding what to study while job hunting If I could, I'd add tags "job-hunt" and "study" or something better. |

What to do while compiling? Reminds me of the "cooperative multitasking" of old time Microsoft Windows vs. modern systems that give processes time slices. The latter has worked better for operating systems, but for Humans it's better to switch at natural break points. |

What to do while compiling? I have switched from using C++ to D, Ada, and various other languages, where using a compiled language matters. Now I never have this question of what to do while waiting. No more a few minutes of fun... |

How to deal with things that cannot be divided into several pomodoros while applying the pomodoro-technique? +1 agreement - the point is timeboxing, not religiously adhering to some particular time interval. I happen to like 40 minutes boxes, and vary as the professional environment I'm in requires. A surfer has to follow the tides not a piece of paper or machine. |

What can I do to keep my work space tidy and clean? Scanning all documents appeals to many, but there's the danger of losing everything if the hard disk crashes. Be sure to maintain backups off-site. |
