comment When do you check your email to be most productive?
Checking on the commute to work generally works best only if the commute is not via car :)

Oh, and just for the record, it looks like RescueTime officially supports Windows and Mac, although a unofficial Linux client is apparently available as well.

@Dmitry: Thanks for mentioning RescueTime. I thought this wasn't a "list" question because I imagined there'd only be one or two applications that did this and ran on Linux, but maybe it's a bigger area than I thought.

comment How often should you take breaks for maximum productivity?
@Soner: Will do soon. Because we're early in the beta I wanted to give a good amount of people a chance to answer questions before I go back and accept.

comment Is there a way to link tasks in Remember the Milk?
Good point that "linked" actions don't really exist in GTD. There's a project somewhere ("stake in the ground") and a next action, plus other next actions that get added in future reviews.

Voted. Also, linking my related question.

If you can't figure out how to do what you want to do, you can at least suggest the idea.

You're looking for a list with only one item visible at a time, or simply a list sorted by "linked tasks"?

comment How long does it take to learn Gregg shorthand?
Really, 4 full years? In my tiny bit of experience with Gregg it seemed very different than Chinese. Chinese is distinct symbols with some phonetic hints, Gregg is an "alphabet" of sounds that combine to form words. But maybe the brief forms are more memorization than "sounding out."

Wouldn't this cause you to lose your job?

comment How long does it take to learn Gregg shorthand?
@Jeanne: That's a factor too, although I'm more interested in the writing aspect (it's nice to be able to jot down notes quickly, even if it takes a little longer to decipher them after).

Interesting. That looks a lot like Gregg, but maybe with just a lot less rules.

comment How can I transform my cycling commute time into productive time?
Be aware of the hazards of being distracted while cycling. The gain in productivity might not outweigh the benefits of riding defensively.

comment Handling delayed delegating in GTD
Yep, this would fit in the standard GTD category of non-actionable now, but actionable later (tickler file).

comment How to use Remember The Milk (RTM) to implement a GTD system?
Thanks for the very complete explanation! How do you handle the concept of a GTD "inbox" that is left empty after each time you "process" the collected items into their various places?

Out of curiosity then, what did you switch to and why did you leave?
