Learning the definition of a new word Very good point about the difference between remembering the definition of a word and actually using it, though it's unclear which of these two results the OP is aiming for. |

Learning the definition of a new word This is a really good idea! I'll have to remember it. Seems like a much more interesting way of building up some associations with the word than making up sentences, which is a method I could never get into. If the word doesn't have a wikipedia entry, I suppose just googling it and looking over the results might do something useful as well... Of course, either way, you risk spending the next few hours stuck on wikipedia, but that's life. ;) |

How do I increase my concentration in classroom? More information would help to find better answers to your particular problem. Do you have any idea why you're having trouble concentrating? What are you doing or thinking about in class instead? Have you tried any solutions to this problem already? Did you have the same problem in high school? Does this happen in all your classes or just some, and if just some, which ones? What field and what kinds of classes are they? |

Effect of treadmill desk on productivity I'm sure even students in the school system get 3x30min of activity a week, so if that's all he's recommending, I'm not sure why the criticism. Does he think more activity than that is beneficial? |

How to use the Pomodoro Technique while finishing a task and the Pomodoro rings? It seems like if you're spending your 3-5 minute break trying to remember what you were doing, you're not really giving yourself much of a rest... |

How does taking a break from work improve productivty? The other two could have answers, if enough research was done on the subject. Whether total productivity over time is maximized by 5% or 30% breaks is a reasonable scientific question. |
