This reminds me of a joke/proverb: How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Of course, Bradbury is so much more eloquent... :) I would add that knowing how big a bite you can take...e.g., knowing yourself well enough to know what steps or sub-steps are manageable to you is crucial to achieving your goal as well.
