I believe your >48 hr recommendation hits the nail at the head: it depends on how we define "fasting." If it's the therapeutic sort in terms of a couple days, I agree that one shouldn't fall into a coma; if it's the famine-like fasting, then physiologically ketoacidosis will happen. I revised the text to further distinguish it. Thanks! |
