comment Laptop Addiction with Videos - Unstoppable due to programming
I got rid of my nasty habit of spending too much time on video games (several hours a day, I really like video games) by installing two OS on my laptop. Windows for games and videos, Linux for work. The amount of time necessary to restart the computer when switching from work to pleasure was enough to visualize the time loss (I don't think about it when it's just Alt+Tab). I tried to find other things to do when I felt the need to play. Eat an apple, call someone, do laundry. And I started doing my work at a new place where I wasn't used to play. It took several weeks but it worked.

comment How to study efficiently few days before the exams [considering that one hasn't throughly studied any subject by now]?
Good answer, time is very important. There are some things most people cannot fully understand just by reading some examples, other things are much easier to remember when you "re-learn" them. Also organizing your time is very important for the long-term well-being. There is nothing worse in college when studying something hard than to have the constant feeling you still have something to do or learn even if you want to relax or go to sleep.

comment How do I concentrate on tough topics when reading on the computer?
It´s a good way to waste paper... I used to do this but always ended up with a mountain of paper I´d never read again. Not to mention that a lot of texts require other sources to be understood (books, papers, wikipedia in the worst cases) which is why it can be more productive to read "on-screen". Taking notes helped me.

Also read from wide screens and large polices. Read good content.

I wouldn't recommend to print hard copies, but taking, keeping and re-reading notes is essential.

comment How to cancel out caffeine's effects on sleep?
it just depends on the amount of (plain) water you drink during the day. Especially if you drink mostly sugared sodas and alcohol, then drinking a lot of water in the evening will make you sleep a lot better. However 1.5L is more than the amount you would need in an entire day, so I guess it also works with a lot less.

Alcohol never has a good effect on your sleep in the long term, but if you're not a heavy drinker, drinking a glass of water or two and a very small amount of heavy alcohol can help occasionally, especially if you're under heavy stress.

comment Overcome extreme laziness and increase productivity
+1 for alimentation and drinking water. Eating at regular times is VERY important since it creates the rythm of your body.

comment How much of my time should I plan in advance: A day, a week or a month?
A suggestion : Plan a project one/two months ahead, eg so you can tell when you can take a leave or so. Then the rest one or two weeks ahead. The point is not to respect your planning, but to know how far you are and what to do during the present week.

comment Always sleepy, tired and not focused
Have you tried to wake up sooner ? It is always bad to wake up in the middle of a sleep cycle. As a personal example, I am almost always sleepy for the whole day when I wake up at 7am (I go to bed between 0:30 and 1 am). Waking up at 6am makes me tired at the end of the day, but I have more energy during the day and don't feel sleepy...

comment What genre of music helps in increasing productivity?
Could you detail "classical music" ? eg I am unable to work with some Bach or Beethoven in the ears. What you describe is also used (in a different way) by some "audio drugs".
