Multitasking (as done by human beings) considered harmful to productivity? +1 but you should define more exactly what a task is (hearing a interview while sorting/deleting/overflying your mails might be ok and productive imo, playing online chess while trying to solve a differential equation not ;) I would search in neuroscience papers, but the the few upvotes & bit vague but fundamental question at this time dont value the effort to me... |

Online sharing and collaborating tool @bill obviously but most of us already backup their files on drop box, if you want to share it then with a team mate in a online meeting, he can simply download, as it is already "online". For collaborating with someone on a file as i said i would choose cloud based software for mentioned tasks |

How do I get more productive from using keyboard shortcuts? IMO Windows 7 now does most of what you list above: WIN+"fire"+ENTER and firefox opens, even files/scripts if you index them. Plugins are similar to windows gadgets. Is it a script language like autohotkey for Win/Linux or more a closed source program with plugins you can develop yourself like firefox? |

What FUTURE-PROOF software for building & managing a personal BIG knowledge base? @dmitry i thought this site is on everything influencing your productivity NOW & IN FUTURE.Choosing the wrong software here will heavily damage your productivity in future, when you cant port, update, repair a knowledge database. I want to ask more software questions,as most of us work with software, improve software with software (Extensions, Autohotkey,...).If such questions get closed here, the site gets pretty pointless for me working every day in front of a Computer But thats just MY VIEW.Im a bit surprised this question gets not more upvotes,as knowledge managing is crucial for prod. |
