comment Does having an office with a window view increases my productivity?
+1 for the too distracting information. It also depends on the scenery outside as well.

Also hard for Fog Creek guys to get any non-building scenery as they are right in the middle of NYC.

comment How to be more productive at my own side project while having a family and a full-time job?
Sorry, my bad choice of words "open up". I didn't mean open sourcing it. I meant getting more collaboration by asking for help.

Thanks for the pics. I think that working at Fog Creek, you would get the whole package rather than just an office with some nice windows. Not something that I have monetary resources to duplicate.

@Hauser, I don't have any hints at all. I mean, I didn't keep any stats, and if I did, how would you correlate stats with productivity (another can of worms here..) I find that I would rather go for a walk or something similar when doing brainstorming.

That is a good observation. I ride my bike to work, about 45min each way. I always feel quite refresh and energetic when I ride regardless on the amount of sleep (5 -> 9 hours) that I get.

This is a valid argument provided we know at what level sleep deprivation kicks in. I believe that is a very individual characteristic.

I wouldn't call spending time with the kids a waste..Thanks for the tips. I do use some of the time management techniques (GTD of sorts), but just want to get more time.
